We have all heard about  Multi-Level-Marketing and I, for one, have done a bit of research into it in the past. What I found was that, the concept was really smart but the products available to promote in businesses I could never really see the need for! Pills for this, lotions for that.. Unfortunately not really my thing.. And my early career in sales taught me that if I didn’t believe in a product, even if I tried my hardest to think it great, I would really not sell much at all.

So, I placed MLM on the shelf….

Last week iLearning Global popped up on my Facebook  and I thought I would take a look into it. I found the main site and found a Brian Tracy video playing back at me… All very nice, in High Definition, nice. Then slowly it dawned on me what iLearning Global was… It’s a subscription site filled with personal development video shorts, ebooks, audiobooks… Basically everything that has been filling my spare time up over the last year, which is pretty much the hub of this site, The4thMarketeer!!

Here is where I think I may need to re-iterate what a great year last year was for me, a real turner in personal philosophy. With the help of many an author and speaker, my world has become a much brighter place. I see possibilities all over the place and firmly believe that many things are achievable for me, when they weren’t before… So finding a site like iLG last week totally had me from the go.. A subscription site, with all of that information available 24/7?  By this time, my eyes had lit up like a kid in a sweetshop!! (You want to see the names of the faculty members… Some serious personal development heroes!)

A couple of videos along on the site started to detail a bit about the marketer scheme.. Here’s where the MLM part starts.. Enrol as a marketer and get a commission on every enrolment up to 7 tiers down. That means, if you enrol someone into the site as a marketer, and he enrols someone else… You will get a commission from both subscriptions!!

Now, I know a couple of people like myself, who are looking for more and something to get their teeth into, and I am assuming they are going to be chomping at the bit too to get involved in this. I feel this product is so good, or at least so well tailored for people like myself, that it really shouldn’t be too difficult to raise the excitement level with new prospects!!

Here is an opportunity to give something great to people who want it.. I’m thinking a great sense of purpose with arise if all goes to plan!!

I came across this site which proves to be pretty useful, you’d hope so bearing in mind that the monthly memberships start at $250! (I have just recieved an email from a nice guy called James from WordStream detailing that subscriptions start from $49! My knuckles have been curteously wrapped lol) But nonetheless there are 3 free tools which anyone can find helpful.. A keyword tool (which goes far more in depth than the generic ones), niche tool and grouping tool.

To follow on with yesterday’s theme on my adoration of Open Source developers, I thought I should add my experience of premier shopping cart programs and the resolution of it all.

When I first started TheGeekPolice, the course advisors suggested using a hosted shop company called Magellan Commerce. Being that they were the ones who where in the know, I took their advice and signed up for $30-$40 a month for the package. What I got was an online shop, with some decent back of house stuff, but no real malleability with the design. There were about 10 different themes that I could choose from, but to personalise it (not knowing anything about CSS) was going to cost me, at the very, very least, $500.

Over time too, access to the back area became very slow, and to upload stuff was tedious and long winded. One day it took 5 mins just to get in. I don’t know if the server was slow or what the problem was. We became really bored of it all!

Tbh, I think it probably serves me right for turning my back on my trusting ally, WordPress. I started to look into Shopping cart plugins and found a few, ending up using eShop. Why I hadn’t thought of this before baffles me! Installation was a doddle , as it always is with WordPress and to use the Cart was simple too (all you have to do is input some criteria and post the product!)

In a nutshell, I would seriously look at the WordPress options before you sign into a premier scheme!

WordPress is King!! (sorry, I should stop blowing smoke up its a*se)

I have been on the internet for about 2 years now and I love the idea that from my geographical placement I can create a shop, website or business that can be accessed from all over the globe. The whole concept still fascinates me.

Just over a year ago, I became interested in how the whole thing worked (that was when I joined Wealthy Affiliate, which I highly recommend!). Earlier this year I got excited and joined a course that shows you how to build yourself a shop online and all the techniques needed to make it successful. The thing I like about courses like these is that there is no pat on the back at the end with a certificate, the prize is a working online product, which you have built up yourself!

The course is run by a company called Prosper, who are based in Utah and run distant learning courses on all kinds of new wave subjects like Stock Trading, E-commerce and Real Estate.

The main reason I am writing this post, apart from the obvious about multiple streams of income (hence my e-commerce mission) is for a tribute to my course Tutor. He got thrown in the deep end with me as my first one left the company and he had no background on what I had been doing. The main reason I want to write this is because everytime I get off the phone I am geared up. He doesn’t even try to push me or motivate me, it is just the way he is and the things he says. Basically, he seems a great guy all round. Tbh, we spend a lot of the time laughing!
