networking on facebookI wanted to record a quick video today to show you how networking on Facebook doesn’t have to be laborious.

With every essence of the modern world dedicated to speed, efficiency and automation your manual networking on Facebook probably feels like a slow march through mud.

It doesn’t have to be like that.

Now, I’m not saying that not doing it is such a good idea as there are 700m profiles or something ridiculous like that on FB, that by not networking on Facebook you are missing out on a big arena.

The video below show you how I like to do my networking on Facebook with a couple of cheeky tactics to speed things up for you too.

Networking on Facebook

Obviously, the first thing to do is to determine who your target audience is before diving into networking on Facebook. Is your expertise in Gardening, Upholstery, Crochet?

Once you have defined that, search for the relevant groups and join them and get the conversation going with the members.

My advice is to try and engage people with open questions (questions that can’t simply be answered yes or no) and find out what makes people tick and what they may or may not be struggling with in their business.

If there is any advice or experience that you can share with them, do so, but don’t feel like you have to advise everyone that you meet. Take the pressure off yourself and make networking on Facebook enjoyable.

If you believe that the person that you are talking to would benefit from taking a look at what you have to offer, ONLY after you have qualified them, ask them if they would like you to send them a link. It’s unlikely that everyone is going to be a the right place to entertain starting a new business, but the more rapport that you build as time goes on the more likely you will be there when the timing is right.

Now go out there and get to it! ;p

Traffic from FacebookTraffic from Facebook – Often when you have just joined an affiliate offer or a new network marketing company, you are left in the dark on how to get people to visit your super new cool website.

I hope to break that for you today and offer the quickest free way that I know to get traffic from Facebook to your webpage.

The key factor here is, yes you can get traffic from Facebook a quicker way but you will probably end up getting ousted from some groups and probably get yourself a label that you don’t want.

We’re not here to annoy people, we are here to help them.

You have probably seen a lot of people trying to get traffic from Facebook by simply posting their opportunity all over, some even have the audacity to do it on your personal page too, which is really annoying. THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER! Can only be seen a few times before you switch off.

Extracting Traffic from Facebook Almost Instantly

The key to what we are doing here is to use an intermediary site when extracting traffic from Facebook, this gives us the opportunity to build up some rapport with the reader before we suggest our product. Also, many of the article directories and Web 2.0 sites will not let you put affiliate links and some capture forms into your content, which obviously defeats the purpose of what we are trying to do!

Remember, we are here to provide solutions to people’s problems, so create something of value for your reader in your intermediary site’s article.

In the video example below I show you how to do all this using the site BetterNetworker, but if you are looking to earn quickly and regularly I recommend using a blog supplied by the Empower Network.

What I fail to go into in the video below is how to entice people to read your article, but that is a whole other story, you will understand the mechanism of extracting traffic from Facebook, although your results will vary depending on what level of copywriting skill you have. The 3 Simple Steps to Extracting Traffic from Facebook

  • Write an informative article that fixes a problem on a 3rd party website
  • Put a couple of links to your product/service in the article (which is part of the solution)
  • Post the article on your Facebook wall and in relevant groups.

Facebook, being the ingenious little buggers that they are, have made it so that you can have a personal presence (a profile) but also interract as a persona (a page). Facebook ‘pages’, as they are called, give you the opportunity to interract with your leads and clientele as your brand (fyi there is a great book about interracting on social networks as your brand called ‘Crush It’ by Gary Vaynerchuk).

The essence of Social Media is the reverse of main street business. Social Media is about giving and sharing information, whereas, main street is more about sales and image. The first rule of how to use Facebook for business is to become highly sociable, helpful and, last but not least, giving.

How to use Facebook for business – 3 key things that you will need :

  1. Obviously, a Facebook account. You can set up with a personal profile (or use an existing one). There is also an opportunity to solely open a business account (which will only let you create pages, you won’t have a personal profile affiliated with your account at all)
  2. A Facebook Page for your business. This will be your central branded hub. You can make it look pretty with videos and graphics etc :)
  3. A Facebook Group. Nothing cooler than to have your own busy group with your name involved

I was having a chat with a friend the other day about how to use Facebook for business. He wanted to know what I would do if I owned his gardening business and wanted to generate leads online. I started on about creating a diary of what was good to plant at what times of year and then create a little bit of content with some do’s and don’ts that he could share with some gardening groups on Facebook. He was a little bemused, but when I explained about the loyalty he will create with possible customers, he saw the light that it would be likely that they would call him when they had a particularly big job, or one that they could not manage themselves. How to use Facebook for business = give value, create rapport and loyalty, make sales.

The  joyous part about modern social media is that 99.9% is free to use, the only opportunity cost is your time. But used wisely, social media and Facebook can turn your business around. Just have a look at how many household names are now on Facebook, making sure that they don’t miss a beat.

So, I was hunting around earlier for cool ideas for my Facebook page, when I stumbled onto this.

As I say in the video, I don’t know who to credit for sharing this info with me, but I do like the angle at which this comes from.

Now, Facebook banners (the long pictures across people profiles I’m talking about) do look very cool, but this is much cooler.

How about changing each of the 5 pictures into an adspot for your products, posts of capture pages… whatever you like?

I think that is a cool idea so I have made a video to show you how to do it (tbh, it is really only uploading pictures and writing a description with a clickable link in it lol). But I made a video anyway! -
