If I am not mistaken, consumption in the old days, was alcoholism no?
I’m not really looking to talk to you about the ins and outs of a spirit bottle, but oh my, have I been there :/
People on blogs are always talking about creating content… I want to talk about consuming it.
I’m guessing that you’re probably already overwhelmed with how much info is out there. It is the number one killer of a new NM career; information overload. Many of us (myself included) have had to take a few ‘run ups’ to get ourself off the first block.
Now, technology is obviously a great thing especially for content creation (Check this, I’m lying in bed with the light out, writing a blog post on my phone.. Who woulda thunk it?) But, most ‘consumer’ technology is made to ‘consume’ stuff (see how it all makes sense now lol), but we don’t always use it to its full potential.
Take your phone again as an example. Prob has a music player on it, I reckon only a few people have much music on it, and I bet less than 1% of you have any marketing audiobooks or ‘Guru’ training on it? I put a plethora of MLSP wake up calls on mine last night and listened to them all the way to London and back. Yes, a train journey is a very obvious time to listen to audio on your phone, but I’m betting there are many more, ‘not quite so noticeable’ times where you could get ‘consuming’.
Many Gurus that I know will allot a time in the day where they will listen to audio trainings. Usually about an hour a day, yaknow, perhaps go for a walk or something, but not all of us are lucky enough to be able to do that from the outset. So you have to get creative.
My opinion is, the sooner you get a training topic in your head each day the better. You ever get a song stuck in your head all morning up to lunch time? Betcha it was the first song you heard. Imagine thinking about PPC, or Twitter strategies all morning without trying?
Crank up the tape player as soon as you can ;p
