I’m in the middle of a ‘Sniping’ campaign and I wanted to show you guys how to get top of Google and what it is that I am up to, as it could be something of use to you, either now or in the future.

Like any good sniper, you are going to need the most up to date intel for your target acquisition. For this you just need to use your nonce to figure out what is and what isn’t happening to define your keyword.

The campaign that I am currently running is for the new Numis Network launch that is happening in Australia, so I have pinned my wits onto the keyword ‘Numis Network Australia’… Rocket science huh?

The name of the game here to get top of Google, is to get to your target before your competition does, basically pin down the keyword as soon as you know it is likely to become searched for.

If you look closely I only started this campaignabout 26 hrs before making the video and the post had been on Google page one since I had gotten up (which was a good 2-3 hours prior).

Now, one thing to be careful of, when using this strategy to get top of Google, is slamming a post too hard with backlinks if you have a newer, less authoritative site… You will get ‘sandboxed’, for anything up to 6 months. But my site syndicates to about 3-5000 places per day so me doing this at this level is fine. Just be a little more sensitive about link building on newer blogs.
